Your Questions, Answered

  • Functional nutrition focuses on understanding why symptoms are happening, not just managing them. It looks at how nutrition, lifestyle, environment, and the body work together, and uses personalized recommendations and, when helpful, functional lab testing to guide care.

  • No. Functional nutrition services are not typically covered by insurance. Working outside of insurance allows me to spend more time with you, offer individualized care, and focus on long-term solutions rather than quick fixes.

  • Often, yes. Many clients are able to use FSA or HSA funds for nutrition counseling and functional lab testing. Coverage can vary, so it’s best to check with your plan administrator if you have questions.

  • It depends on your goals and what’s going on beneath the surface. Most clients work with me for several months so we have time to assess, implement changes, and adjust along the way. Many start with a 6-visit package, which offers enough support to build real momentum.

  • I work with clients who are experiencing a wide range of concerns, including:

    • Digestive issues like bloating, IBS, or reflux

    • Hormonal imbalances such as PMS, irregular cycles, or perimenopause

    • Low energy or ongoing fatigue

    • Blood sugar concerns

    • Skin issues

    • Inflammation or food sensitivities

    • Feeling stuck despite “normal” lab results

If you’re not sure whether functional nutrition is the right fit, we can talk it through during a discovery call.

  • Testing is always personalized and may include:

    • GI-MAP stool testing

    • DUTCH hormone testing

    • Dutch adrenal cortisol testing

These tests can offer helpful insight into gut health and hormones and are used as tools to better understand your body, not as standalone answers.

  • No. I don’t prescribe medications or diagnose medical conditions. My role is to support you through nutrition, supplements, and lifestyle strategies, and I’m happy to work alongside your healthcare providers when needed.

  • I recommend professional-grade, pharmaceutical-quality supplements that are third-party tested. All recommendations are tailored to you and based on your needs, goals, and any lab results we review together.

  • Yes. All sessions are held virtually, so you can work with me from wherever you’re located. Lab testing is shipped directly to your home, and appointments take place via secure video calls.

  • Not necessarily. While testing can be helpful for many people, it isn’t required for everyone. We’ll talk through your history and goals and decide together whether testing makes sense for you.

  • Yes! When you refer someone and they enroll in a new program, you’ll receive a referral gift as a thank you.

As a token of appreciation for your support, I’ll gift you a complimentary annual membership to Thrive Market, which is an online grocery platform that offers discounted, non-GMO, and organic products delivered to your door with free shipping.

It’s simple, easy, and my way of saying thank you for sharing this work with someone who could benefit.

  • Many clients come to functional nutrition feeling frustrated or discouraged. This approach is about slowing down, looking at patterns, and creating a plan that evolves based on how your body responds over time.

  • Getting started is simple. You can book a discovery call, and from there we’ll decide on next steps and whether one of the care packages feels like the right fit for you.
